What NASA and Elon Musk are not telling you is, after 50 years of astronaut medical research and missions, no one - including NASA and Elon Musk - has solved the insurmountable biological barriers (IBB) that are preventing human colonization of the Moon or Mars.
NASA medical research found that astronauts prolonged exposure to microgravity and interstellar radiation causes reverse blood and ambiotic fluid flows, which create serious temporary and permanent damage and dysfunctions in the human body: including the ability to walk, move, and see.
If you think this is not a serious issue, I direct you to NASA astronaut Scott Kelly's account and experience of the hell he went through upon returning to Earth gravity after spending a year in Earth orbit microgravity, which is about 90% of Earth's gravity.
NASA is not ready for human colonization precisely because IBB has not been solved and no solution is in NASA's radar, as NASA is currently taking bids on IBB solutions.

Astronaut Scott Kelly on the devastating effects of a year in space
NASA astronaut Scott Kelly spent a year in space. His recollections of this unprecedented test of human endurance, and the physical toll it took, raise questions about the likelihood of future travel to Mars.

NASA is completely aware that no one has ever solved the insurmountable problem of the severe, debilitating harm to the human body caused by prolonged exposure to microgravity and radiation.
NASA is aware that there is no defense against galactic cosmic radiation astronauts experience outside Earth's sphere.
NASA is aware that the gravity level onboard the ISS is about 90% of Earth's gravity, while lunar gravity is about 16.6% of Earth's gravity, meaning the harm that microgravity would cause a person on the Moon would be about five times worse than on board the space station - virtually precluding human colonization of the Moon.

Melon Musk claims he will put a million people on Mars within 10 years, while NASA Administrator Bill Nelson says NASA hopes to put a man on Mars sometime in the 2040s.
NASA is considering paying a U.S. contractor $6 billion to send a craft to retrieve (30) thirty cigar-size tubes filled with Martian dirt and return it to Earth so scientists can analyze the dirt and hope they find clues to the origins of the planet Mars.
That's $200 million per tube.

SpaceFraud.Tech believes NASA and/or Musk may eventually send a single military mission to Mars, but due to IBB, human colonization is not possible.
SpaceFraud.Tech predicts another Challenger-styled disaster; either during a manned launch due to leaks, or one the first manned mission to Mars, or during manned re-entry on return from the Moon or Mars, due to heat shield issues.
SpaceFraud.Tech contends that human colonization of the Moon and Mars is not possible due to significant harm and damage caused by prolonged exposure to microgravity and interstellar radiation.
